The PV-FPSA product is based on quantitative immunoassay and based on paramagnetic particles, which is designed for the quantitative measurement of free prostate-specific antigen (FPSA) in human serum and plasma using the PadinAnalyzer immunoassay analyzer.

Basically, PV-FPSA is used to monitor the tumor and its treatment stages. This product should not be used for primary diagnosis and tumor screening.

Prostate-specific antigen or PSA is a glycoprotein serine protease whose proteolytic property is deactivated in complex with protease inhibitors such as 1-antichymotrypsin (ACT), alpha-2-macroglobulin and other acute phase proteins in the blood.

In addition to forming a complex with other agents, this antigen is also present in the blood in a free form, which is inactive in terms of proteolytic properties.

In general, an increase in the concentration of PSA in the serum indicates the pathological state of the prostate (prostatitis, benign hyperplasia or carcinoma). Early diagnosis of prostate carcinoma is a challenge due to the lack of symptoms in affected men, and early diagnosis in people without symptoms with a simple, safe and cheap test is very important.
