The PV-TSH product is based on quantitative immunoassay and based on paramagnetic particles, which is designed for the quantitative measurement of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in human serum and plasma using PadinAnalyzer immunoassay analyzer.

PV-TSH measurement helps in early diagnosis or rejection of central regulatory disorders of the hypothalamus, pituitary and thyroid axis. Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 28-30 kilodaltons.

This hormone consists of two subunits, hTSHα and hTSHβ, which are non-covalently connected to each other.

The obvious and common feature of glycoprotein TSH, luteal hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is relatively high carbohydrate content and similarity in the α subunit sequence of these hormones. TSH stimulates all stages of thyroid hormone formation and secretion, as well as induces proliferation.

Determining the concentration of this hormone as an initial test in thyroid diagnosis is of particular importance. Even very slight changes in the concentration of free thyroid hormones may cause changes in the TSH level.

Based on this, TSH is a very sensitive and specific parameter for evaluating thyroid function and is especially suitable for early diagnosis of central system disorders consisting of hypothalamus, pituitary and thyroid.
