T4 Elisa 192T

T4 Elisa 192T kit user

Kit ELISA 4T of Arghvan Teb Kavian Company is designed for quantitative measurement of thyroxine total in serum or plasma. This kit is supplied in a package of 192 tests by Arghvan Teb Kavian. Two hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) are produced by the thyroid gland and enter the blood. Only a small amount of T3 is made directly by the thyroid, and most of it is made by the 5-iodinase enzyme in the tissue from the removal of an iodine atom from thyroxine.

Therefore, it seems that thyroxine acts mainly as a storage source and precursor of T3 hormone, which is the most biologically active form of thyroid hormones. Most of the thyroxine in the blood is transported bound to TBG, prealbumin and albumin proteins, and only five hundred percent of it is free. The main driver of thyroxine hormone production is thyrotropin hormone or TSH secreted from the pituitary gland, which is under the control of thyrotropin-releasing hormone, which is secreted from the hypothalamus.

Thyroid hormones enhance many intracellular actions and promote cell growth and differentiation. Thyroid hormones increase oxygen consumption and ATP production, mitochondrial metabolism, synthesis and metabolism of carbohydrates, synthesis and breakdown of cholesterol and triglycerides (for example, through regulation of LDL receptor expression in the liver), tissue sensitivity to catecholamines. It also increases heart rate and contractility of heart muscles.

In addition to the mentioned cases, thyroid hormones play an important role in regulating calcium and phosphorus metabolism, growth and development of fetuses and children. The amount of T4 hormone increases in hyperthyroidism and decreases in hypothyroidism, which may be associated with a decrease or increase in TSH, respectively. Factors such as pregnancy or the use of oral contraceptive pills that increase the concentration of thyroid hormone binding proteins can increase the amount of total thyroxine in the serum, while the amount of free thyroxine in these people is normal. In these people, TSH is usually in the reference range.
